The world’s longest midspin suspension bridge is being opened to the public in Türkiye.
The Chanak Clay 1915 Bridge has been built on Daniel Pass. Officials say it has been successfully completed. The bridge opened to traffic on February 20th, with the official opening on March 18.
The 4.6 km long bridge is said to be an important link between Europe and Asia as it is the first such bridge on the Daniel Pass.
At present, it takes hours to reach Daniel Pass by boat, but this bridge will cover this distance in 6 minutes. The bridge was constructed in March 2017 and it has been officially decided to open it on March 18, 2022.

Its main span or spacing between one and the other sporting poles is 2023 meters which makes it the tallest suspension bridge in the world. Its red and white towers reflect the Turkish national flag and are 334 meters long, the tallest suspension tower in the world.
It is part of Türkiye’s Vision 2023 project, which cost 3.1 billion euros to build. It was initially estimated that the bridge would be completed at a cost of 2.8 billion euros, but an outbreak of the coronavirus increased the cost by 300 million euros.
The tower is primarily attributed to the Battle of Gallipoli in 1915 during World War I. The bridge has been built under the public-private partnership model bridge is jointly built by South Korean and Turkish companies and is Türkiye’s fourth bridge connecting Asia and Europe.
