The image of the kids was shared on Twitter by UN representative Mohamad Safa, who also stated that they had been buried by debris for 17 hours. After the release of the image, a lot of online users commended the girl for her thoughtful action in the upsetting circumstance. Even though both received praise for their bravery, the girl was seen as saving her younger brother. She lay behind the rubble, encircling her brother in her arms, shielding him from the catastrophe.
