Mohammad Ghulam Mustafa Awan, a national-record-holding Pakistani swimmer, was shot near his home in Dhoke Faryal, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Jatli police station.
The elite swimmer was the current national record holder in the men’s 200 breaststroke, which he set in 2019.
Half an hour after leaving his house, the 23-year-body old’s was found 22 feet away. The assailants fled the scene, according to details, and no arrests have been made as of yet. The cold-blooded murder is claimed to be under investigation by the authorities.
DIG Sajid Kiani, a City Police Officer, is claimed to be leading the investigation and has instructed his staff to collect all necessary information in order to proceed with the case. Mustafa Awan’s body was taken to a local hospital for medical examinations.
Mustafa Awan competed in national swimming contests for the Pakistan Army all around the country. Last month, he competed for Pakistan in the FINA Swimming Championships in Abu Dhabi.
