Pakistani-born British: Government Report on Non-Study, Non-Work Status

An annual survey conducted by the British government found that the majority of 16 to 24-year-old youth in the UK of Pakistani descent are neither in school nor in the workforce.

According to official figures, there was an average of 11.5% of young people of Pakistani descent in the UK who were neither in school nor in the workforce.

The survey found that among young people of the same age in Bangladesh, 11.7% of white British people, 11.5% of black British people, and 11.3% of other Asian adolescents were unemployed and not in school or training.

Only Chinese and Indian individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 had higher employment and educational rates than people from other countries living in the UK, according to the data. Nearly 7.3 percent of young people of Indian heritage and 4.5 percent of young people of Chinese origin were neither in school nor employed.
