The government introduced a sub-national food system dashboard intending to tackle food security issues and revolutionize the nation’s food system.
According to a press release, the Ministry of National Food Security, in partnership with the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), hosted the inauguration event. This regional food systems dashboard was developed as a joint effort between GAIN, Johns Hopkins University, and the Columbia Climate School at Columbia University, mirroring the approach of the global food systems dashboard.
Captain Muhammad Mahmood, a retired federal secretary for the Ministry of National Food Security, spoke at the event and emphasized the significance of using real facts when creating public policies and initiatives. In his remarks at the opening ceremony, PARC Chairman Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali praised the efforts of all the participants and development partners.
