Pakistan, Oman to begin ferry service

Pakistan and Oman are discussing ways to begin ferry service between the two states and also steps to boost tourism.

According to foreign media, Oman’s envoy to Pakistan Omar Ahmed Al-Marhoon has held a meeting with Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed last month in this regard.

An interior ministry official quoted the ambassador as saying, “The start of ferry service will augment tourism and trade between the two countries.

During the meeting, Ahmed said the government of Pakistan will give every facility in visa for tourism and trade to the people of Oman in Pakistan.

Pakistan has also been motivating the private sector to invest in this type of transportation. The two sides also mulled the entire spectrum of bilateral ties, including economic, political, people-to-people, commercial and defence relations.

The two sides agreed to augmenting ties in multiple fields qualitatively, with particular focus on the economic dimensions.
