The proprietor of a renowned eatery known as ‘Nisar Charsi Tikka Shish Mahel,’ situated in Peshawar, Pakistan, was apprehended due to allegations of inappropriate conduct and unwanted advances towards international tourists who had come to visit Pakistan.
The proprietor, who goes by the first name Nisar, and after whom the well-known shop is named, was caught on camera groping a foreign visitor, and his photographs quickly went viral on social media. On Wednesday, September 20th, according to local Pakistani news media, he was taken into custody by the police in Peshawar.
Following the spread of the incident’s photos on social media in Pakistan, the Capital City Police gave the go-ahead to detain Nisar, the proprietor of Nisar Charsi Tikka, and file the appropriate paperwork in Peshawar to initiate legal proceedings against him for the applicable violations of the Pakistan Penal Code.
A user on X (formerly Twitter) reported that Nisar Khan ‘Charsi,’ the well-known owner of Charsi Tikka, has been arrested by the Peshawar police. This action followed complaints from local residents, including some foreign tourists, who alleged that he was engaging in public displays of affection with his customers on the street.

According to a local news article in Pakistan, the restaurant’s proprietor has been charged with engaging in “inappropriate behavior” with foreign tourists who were temporarily residing at a local hotel in Peshawar. This isn’t the first instance where Nisar has faced criticism for his actions towards female tourists or foreigners in Peshawar, Pakistan. His interactions with tourists have frequently sparked discussions on social media in Pakistan, with some users condemning his actions, stating, “He exhibited unsettling behavior in various videos, including non-consensual touches and kisses, particularly with foreign tourists. Kudos to the KP police!”
