A case of assault has been filed against daughter-in-law Aaliya aka Anjana Kishor Pandey aka Zainab by actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s mother Mehrunisa Siddiqui.
According to the Indian news outlet India Times, Mehrunisa Siddique accused Zainab of physically assaulting her after an altercation and breaking into her home. The Indian Penal Code sections 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntary inflicting hurt), and other violations were used to lodge the FIR at the Versova police station against Zainab Siddiqui. According to police sources, there may have been a property dispute between the two parties, which led to the event.
Aaliya had petitioned for a divorce from Nawazuddin Siddiqui, which is relevant to mention. He and his brother Shamas Siddiqui are allegedly responsible for her bodily assault. The petition was withdrawn by her in 2021. In response to the FIR filed against her, Aaliya said on Instagram that while police quickly took her mother-in-law’s complaint about the actor-husband under consideration, they neglected her accusations.
Shockingly, the police have not responded to my legitimate criminal accusations against my husband. A criminal complaint or FIR is instantly filed against me after I enter my husband’s home, though, and it takes a few hours. Will I ever obtain justice, this way,” she wrote on Instagram.
