Several social media influencers and content creators have recently stepped into the mainstream entertainment business to diversify their portfolios.
Mooro is the latest social media celebrity to make his full-fledged acting debut with a forthcoming drama, following in the footsteps of Dananeer Mobeen and Arslan Naseer.
In the drama Paristan, the famous YouTuber who has delighted and educated viewers through his videos will play Amanullah.
“Coming soon to a television near you,” he posted with a photo of Mira Sethi.
Mooroo told Images that “he and Mira Sethi had created Amanullah, Haroon and many other characters for his YouTube channel. Comedian Faiza Saleem had played the character of Gulsher and Sethi played Zubaida”.
“The character I’m playing is Amanullah [and he’s also there] on my YouTube channel. Me and Mira had created these characters a long time ago and we are now taking them to TV. Some things are obviously fixed and changed according to the director in order to mould a character in a better way and to match the writer’s description. It’s like bringing the old characters into a new world,” he explained.
He and Mira have already collaborated on his YouTube channel, creating Amanullah, Haroon, and several other characters.
The revelation was also shared on Instagram by Mira, who plays Zubaida in the vlog.
“COMING SOON TO A SCREEN NEAR YOU, ZUBAIDA AND AMANULLAH!” Mira was the one who made the announcement.
Merub Ali, Arslan Naseer, Junaid Jamshaid Niazi, Aymen Saleem, Navin Waqar, and Ali Safina are among the cast members of Paristan, directed by Ali Hassan.
The drama will be broadcast on HUM TV during Ramadan.
