Metro Bus and Orange Line Photography Now Subject to Fee up to Rs. 2.5 Lac

Passengers at Lahore’s Metro Bus and Orange Line train stations are now required to pay a fee to gain access to media services. This is due to the Punjab Mass Transit Authority.

Media outlets will be expected to pay a fee for coverage under Mass Transit Authority regulations, and permission will be granted following those regulations. The authority has divided the stations into three groups to streamline the process.

A fee of Rs. 246,000 will apply to each station categorized as Category A, and there are a total of eight such stations. Each station in Category B, comprising a total of 10 stations, would receive a coverage fee of Rs. 185,000 to be paid to media companies. Similar to Category B, Category C, which consists of eight stations, will pay a coverage charge of Rs. 124,000.

Furthermore, media organizations reporting on the Metro Bus service will incur a fee of PKR 124,000. The Punjab Mass Transit Authority intends to generate funds for maintaining the public transportation system, which is the reason behind their current course of action.
