JERUSALEM: Pakistani social activist and noble laureate Malala Yousafzai faced severe backlash on social media after netizens trolled 23-year-old for not mentioning Israeli oppression and US ignorance while more than 3 dozens Palestinians martyred while hundreds remain injured in the recent attacks.
On the other hand, Lebanese-American former porn star Mia Khalifa has taken the internet by storm after slamming Israeli forces brutality and US financial involvement amid the recent attacks at Islam’s third holiest site.
Netizens who follow both stars compared both narratives and started a campaign afterward. Many of the social media users irked over Malala’s diplomatic tweet in which she didn’t mention any of the oppressors besides terming the whole scenario as conflict instead of forced eviction or ethnic cleansing.
Soon after the post of Pakistani activist, an edited version of her tweet started getting rounds on social media in which her tweet can be seen overwritten with red markings.
At this age, she knows exactly how not to offend her real sponsors. Very efficiently she skips all the words that could have created issues for herself. #SupportGaza #PalestiniansLivesMatter#المسجدالأقصى https://t.co/gVI81V5NQb pic.twitter.com/XVKkPfbppT
