Life of Legendary Comedian Ismail Tara

Ismail Tara, a legendary comedian, passed away on Thursday in Karachi from kidney disease, according to his family.

He was 73. He was admitted to a private hospital three days ago, according to his son Shiraz Tara, but he died from kidney failure. After Friday prayers, there will be a Namaz-i-Janaza service at the Pahari Masjid on Shaheed-i-Millat Road. In addition to his wife, Ismail Tara is survived by four boys and a daughter. The multi-talented Tara, who was born in Karachi in November 1949, has a long career in theater, television, and film. He started acting in theater productions in 1964 when he was still in his early teens.

His coworkers assert that he quickly became well-known for his mimicry skills and that Pakistan Television talent scouts became interested in him. He became well-known as a result of the comedy program Fifty-Fifty, which aired from 1979 to 1981. The program, which was inspired by the American sketch comedy program Saturday Night Live, was a huge success and is today regarded as one of the classiest comedic productions in PTV history. Through Fifty-Fifty, Tara and her partner artist Majid Jehangir rose to the top of the comedy world.

The program was highly radical for its time because it held nothing sacred while examining societal injustices and double standards in an open-minded manner. After Anwar Maqsood, the original scriptwriter had a dispute with the director in 1981, he also contributed to the writing of certain episodes of the well-known TV program. Ismail Tara earned a name for himself on the little screen before attempting his luck on the big screen, where he quickly established himself.

Since the news of Tara’s passing broke on Thursday night, many people have been grieving his loss. He was not just a superb actor with a strong work ethic, but also a jovial, good-natured person who was greatly admired in private. Veteran performer Bushra Ansari told The Express Tribune that it is devastating news for her and she has no words to express her sorrow over the passing of Ismail Tara. It is a difficult time for her because her industry colleagues have started to go one by one. But everyone must pass away at some point, she mourned. Ismail Tara was a wonderful man and artist. She had the good fortune to work with him and enjoyed his company. She believes that now is not the appropriate time to bid him farewell; she believes he departed too soon. But that was God’s will, and all we can do is pray to him, she said in closing.

Ismail Tara has always brought delight to everyone’s lives, including the playwright Asghar Nadeem Syed’s. Syed said but by leaving so abruptly, he has for the first time left him in sorrow. He has always smiled whenever he has spoken to him.

He was never depressed, in his opinion. He has many years of experience in the industry. His four decades in the business have witnessed him, and he thinks that it is difficult for anyone to continue in our line of work for so long without letting it affect their light. Tara would “supervise” himself even in difficult situations, Syed recounted. It was unfortunate that Majid Jahangir was unable to continue working on Tara, but Tara continued to make a significant contribution to theatre, film, and television, he said in his conclusion.
