LAHORE: Actor and model Meesha Shafi, who leveled accusations of sexual harassment against singer turned actor Ali Zafar, failed to appear before the court again.

The court also summoned Humna Raza and Maham Javed for the next hearing while appeals filed by the accused of not appearing before the court in person have been rejected.

The court ruled that both female accused have not appeared in any of the hearings, while the court also directed rapper Ali Gul Pir to appear or face the music.

“As per record, accused ladies Meesha Shafi and Maham Javed have not appeared before this court not even on a single date of hearing. As the accused ladies are not appearing before the court, so, in their absence, instant application is not maintainable. Hence, application stands infructuous being not maintainable in their absence”, the judge ruled.

It further added “Report of process server about absent accused ladies Meesha Shafi and Maham Javed have not been turned back by the FIA officials. It is strictly directed to FIA officials/ naib court that warrants should be processed on next date of hearing”. It further summoned both accused on November 08, 2021.

On the other hand, Pakistani singer Ali Zafar prayed the court to expedite the hearings in the compensation case while the medical certificate submitted by Ali Gul Pir has been declared fake by Zafar’s legal team.

Zafar’s lawyer maintained that the comedian got an exemption by submitting a fake medical certificate contrary to his health. With the recent update, Zafar’s lawyer urged court to add criminal proceedings under section 476 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

As Zafar was not present in court earlier, he later rushed to court within an hour on court orders. Lamenting at the situation, Zafar said he appeared before the court within an hour while no accused has appeared before the court in the last 3 years.
