MUMBAI: A social media influencer, Shreya Kalra, has landed herself in trouble after her clip of dancing at zebra crossing of a busy intersection, in a Western Central Indian city, went viral on social platforms and she was served a notice for violating traffic rules.
Reports in Indian media quoting sources said a female Instagram celebrity in India’s Indore took to a busy road intersection where she filmed a clip for her social media account in which she marched to a different drummer while the move did not go well with the traffic department who asserted on taking actions following the viral clip.
Around four days ago, the social media sensation shared the clip on her Instagram account which is still doing rounds on social networking sites.
The clip that prompted action featured Kalra, who donned in a black dress, took to the mid of the road while vehicles stopped owing to red light. She then started shooting a short clip on Woman by Doja Cat, while the passersby, who were waiting at the traffic signal, seem baffled by her dance moves.
Later, the girl updated the caption and urged all to obey traffic rules. “Please do not break the rules – red sign means you have to stop at the signal not because I’m dancing”, she rewrote.
Additional Superintendent of Police also commented on the development hinting at stern action against her as she misused the zebra crossing which violates traffic rules.
As netizens go berserk, the girl was served with a notice as home minister Narottam Mishra ordered law enforcement to act against her under the Motor Vehicle Act of IPC.

Mishra, while speaking with local media, negated to comment on her intention by saying her act oppose the Indian law and directed the action to stop such acts in near future.
Meanwhile, a number of social media users slammed her moves by calling it cringe and a violation of traffic rules. Amid the flak she draws, some even commended her confidence in dancing in the middle of the road in a country like India where women are not allowed to act in such manner.
Furthermore, the clip has garnered more than 36K views while hundreds of users commented as the news becomes the talk of the town.
