Another journalist, another father has become the victim of rising inflation, government’s apathy and growing unemployment in Pakistan.
Muhammad Fahim Mughal, a jobless journalist, took his life by hanging himself with a ceiling fan in his house because of poverty.
The father of five daughters became jobless after the Express Media Group fired him from the job in June this year.
After becoming jobless, he began driving a rented rickshaw to earn bread but his financial problems quadrupled because of continuously rising petroleum prices. He became despondent after he failed to pay back the loan of Rs. 70,000 and committed suicide.
The incident occurred days after the upper house of Pakistan passed the Journalist Protection Bill.
