Arya Rajendran, the country’s youngest mayor, got engaged to Sachin Dev, Kerala’s youngest legislator, on Sunday.
The small engagement ceremony took place at AKG Centre, the ruling CPM’s state headquarters. In the presence of senior CPI-M leaders as well as close friends and relatives, the couple exchanged rings.
While working together at Balasangham, the Communist Party of India’s student wing, the pair became acquainted.
Both of them were formerly involved with ‘Balasangam’ and SFI. Sachin Dev is now the state secretary of SFI and a member of the CPM Kozhikode district committee.
Meanwhile, Arya is a member of the CPI-Chala M’s local committee and the SFI’s state committee. At the age of 21, Arya Rajendran assumed the role of mayor.
She made waves when she became India’s youngest mayor. It was only a month ago that the pair decided to tie the knot. The couple is expected to marry next month, according to reports.
