When the word Government College pops up, one’s mind reverberates the big names associated with this more than a century old institution – more aptly said as the Lahore’s identity.
This time, Government College University has hit the news with the screening of a Harry Potter-inspired film.
Following the death of Lord Voldemort, a group of students from the GCU took an initiative to find the reason behind his death and turned their university into a Harry Potter set.
The film ‘The Last Follower and the Resurrection of Voldemort’ has been launched on November 29 during a week-long Harry Potter festival that the GCU will conduct till December 5. The screening comes 10 years after the last Harry Potter film, ‘The Deathly Hallows Part-2’, which was released in 2011.

Produced by Khayaali Productions, the trailer gave a unique surprise—the 156-year-old vintage campus of the GCU in Lahore has been reenacted to match the ambience of gigantic, dark and enchanted castle-like campus of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The film cast includes students and alumni of the varsity, who with holding wands and House scarves around their neck, seem to be absorbed in their setting as they try to cast a spell.
