Govt of Pakistan okays China made COVID vaccines for teenagers

With the overall coronavirus cases gradually going down across Pakistan and the vaccination of a large chunk of population with Covid-19 jabs, the government of Pakistan has decided to administer vaccines to the age bracket of 12 to 18 years with two Chinese vaccines.

A body of health experts belonging to National Command Operation Center has approved the vaccines of Sinopharm and Sinovac for the aforementioned age group of children.

This comes in addition to already-approved Pfizer vaccines for children above 12 years of age. In a tweet, the NCOC said the vaccination campaign to children will start from November 15.

Earlier, in a statement, Federal Planning Minister and Head of NCOC said that more than 50 percent of children had been administered with one jab of coronavirus vaccine.

Moreover, the countrywide count of active coronavirus cases has touched 23,270 as more than 600 more people have been tested positive for the deadly virus. On the other hand, 316 people have been recovered from the coronavirus during the past 24 hours.
