Former Miss USA, TV host Cheslie Kryst commits ‘suicide’ leaving behind note on Instagram

Cheslie Kryst, a former Miss USA, has died.

According to the New York City Police Department, Kryst, who was elected Miss USA in 2019, died after falling from a building in Manhattan.

“May this day bring you rest and peace,” Kryst wrote on her Instagram page just before her death.

Around 7:15 a.m., the 30-year-old jumped from her luxury 60-story Orion building at 350 W. 42nd St. and was discovered dead in the street below, according to sources.

Kryst, who lived on the building’s ninth story, leapt alone and was last seen on a 29th-story terrace, according to sources.

Kryst left behind a statement stating that she wished to leave everything to her mother, who was elected Mrs. North Carolina in 2002.

Kryst got her law degree and MBA from Wake Forest University and her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, where she was a track athlete.

“Our hearts are broken,” the company said in a statement. “Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show. She was a beloved part of our Extra family and touched the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends.”

Condolence messages have been pouring in via her Instagram page following her death.

“In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie,” the statement read. “Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined.

Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”
