Eminem beats Drake to reach most gold and platinum singles in history of music

Eminem has recently been declared the musician with the most gold and platinum awards in history, according to Variety. The rapper’s streams on platforms surged following his Super Bowl halftime performance with Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded Eminem 73.5 million new “Gold & Platinum Program” certificates today. The rapper is currently the most certified musician on the show, and one of only seven artists in any genre or era to win three or more “Diamond Album Awards.”

According to Variety, Eminem’s amended certifications total 227.5 million, with 166 million for singles and 61.5 million for albums.

“These awards honour Eminem’s steadfast dedication to his profession and the long-lasting bond he’s built with his fans over the last two decades.” Eminem becomes the best certified singles artist in our show’s history with today’s announcement, and he adds a rare third diamond album to his long list of creative achievements.

“Congrats to Eminem and his whole label team for setting a new bar higher than ever before!” said Mitch Glazier, President and CEO of the Recording Industry Association of America Wished them wholeheartedly.

The Insterscope/Aftermath musician was highly praised by label management. “It was an honour to be a part of one of the greatest trips in recorded music history.” “The most delightful part is that it feels like the trip is just getting begun,” Interscope Geffen A&M Vice President Steve Berman said.
