Elon Musk has officially announced that he and his former partner, Grimes, have welcomed their third child into the world. Just like their previous children, this new addition bears an equally unique and unconventional name.
The technology mogul sent a message on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the child’s name is Tau Techno Mechanicus. The three offspring of Musk and Grimes were identified in a Pop Base post as “X A-Xii, Exa Dark Siderael Musk, and Techno Mechanicus,” and Musk, the social network’s owner, was replying to the post. Until a short time ago, the child’s existence was kept a secret.
Grimes, a Canadian musician born Claire Boucher, has described her relationship with Musk as “extremely fluid,” although they split up in September 2021. She disclosed Exa Dark Siderael Musk’s surrogate birth in December 2021 in an interview with Vanity Fair in March 2022. Grimes volunteered the news after Vanity Fair journalist Devin Gordon overheard a baby crying, even though the pair reportedly had no intention of revealing the birth of their second child, dubbed “Y.” X A-Xii, a son born to Grimes and Musk in May 2020, is their first child. From a previous marriage, the 48-year-old Musk has five more children: triplets Damian, Saxon, and Kai; twins Damian and Vivian; and Gryphon and Vivian, both twins.
On September 6, Musk’s relationship with Shivon Zilis, an executive at Neuralink, a business he controls that aims to create an implantable computer chip for the human brain, was also made public, along with their 16-month-old twins, Strider and Azure. He has expressed concerns in the past regarding the dropping birth rate. Musk stated on Twitter in May 2022 that “the USA birth rate has fallen below the minimum sustainable threshold for almost 50 years.” He reaffirmed his position in July, stating that he is trying to help with the underpopulation issue. He believes that a collapse in the birthrate is the biggest threat to society.
