David Beckham turns 46

LONDON: Former English soccer star David Robert Joseph aka David Beckham turned 46 Sunday.

Ex-Manchester United legend received huge love from wife Victoria Beckham as she marked his special day with two giant balloon body doubles decked out in their sporting gear. Victoria, who is a year elder than David, gushes about her husband as she called him the ‘most incredible daddy’.

She also took to the photo-sharing platform Instagram to make a cheeky pun about the birthday boy being younger. She posted a picture and wrote “Looks like you’re catching me up!! To a very special husband and the most incredible daddy x Happy birthday. we all love you so so much. x @davidbeckham x.”

Victoria, who is a fashion designer, also shared another picture with giant balloons, writing: “Birthday boy @davidbeckham with his @intermiamicf team mates!! X Happy Birthday!!!” David’s son Romeo Beckham also took to the social media platform and shared an adorable picture with his father on a special day, writing: “Happy birthday dad !!!! I love u so much and hope you have the most amazing day @davidbeckham.”

Beckham in his career played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, in the US soccer league, and Paris St Germain. Besides the soccer world, he established his own clothing line and is one of the most iconic sportsmen in England. The second most capped English player of all time has twice been voted the runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Year.

He led the English national team from 15 November 2000 to 2 July 2006 as team captain. He started his legendary career began with Manchester United, making his first first-team appearance at the age of 17.
