COAS Asim Munir Graces NUST Convocation Ceremony

In the military’s official announcement, it was stated that Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, during his role as the chief guest at the inaugural “Master Convocation Ceremony” at the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), emphasized the significant value of education.

He underscored that education is not a matter of choice but an essential requirement. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Munir, who concurrently holds the position of Chairman of the NUST Board of Governors, presented medals to students who had shown outstanding achievements.

During his address to the graduating class, General Munir stressed that this marked the commencement of a new chapter in their lives, necessitating greater responsibility due to the substantial change it represents. He emphasized the importance of reflecting on their newfound sense of responsibility in their future choices and personal qualities as they move forward. The COAS emphasized the need to identify, evaluate, and utilize intellectual creativity to tackle the country’s challenges. Today marked the commencement of the annual convocation week at the primary campus of the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) in Islamabad.

During this convocation week, students who have earned Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees in the seven core disciplines from all NUST Schools will be recognized. This ceremony is expected to see more than 3,500 graduates receiving their degrees. During his conversations with the students, General Munir congratulated the graduates, their parents, and the faculty sincerely. He praised NUST for fostering a climate favorable to studying and teaching and for developing bright minds prepared to serve the country. The University Rector greeted the COAS upon his arrival at NUST.
