‘Did you see my media management skills?’: another alleged audio clip of Maryam emerges

On Tuesday, another alleged audio clip of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, in which she appears to praise her ‘media management,’ appeared.

“Take a look at my social media handling.” In an apparent reference to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, Geo News and Dunya News have “ruined them.” It’s unknown when the video was taken or what incidents she was alluding to in the five-second film.

Maryam was asked about the reported audio clip and whether it was truly her while speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court. “I’ve already answered this, and I’ve clearly explained it,” she remarked as she moved on to the next topic. “Enough brother, she has already answered the question,” PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb, who was also there, responded when the reporter continued to question her.

Fawad Chaudhry, the Information Minister, took to Twitter to say that audio snippets of the opposition leader had highlighted the country’s media structure’s weaknesses. “What would a curtailed media [business] look like if such a media [industry] is free?” The [country’s] mafias are holding media freedom hostage, according to the minister.

Meanwhile, following the recent upset in the first phase of local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan to resign and return home with dignity.

Maryam blamed the ruling PTI for the rising inflation rate. “Leave poor folks alone, Imran Khan.” “Save the last shred of dignity you have and return home,” she said. After the PTI’s “embarrassing setback” in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa LG polls, Maryam believes no leader would want to seek an electoral ticket from the party. “It is Pakistan’s first sitting government to lose elections following elections,” she concluded. Even PTI lawmakers, according to the PML-N vice president, are dissatisfied and criticise their administration on talk shows. She said that the NAB had failed to present evidence against her in court, and that the Bureau, which had previously requested daily hearings, was now requesting adjournments.

In response to a query, she stated that the party had entrusted Nawaz Sharif with the task of nominating a prospective contender for the prime ministership in the upcoming general elections, and that it would be a pleasure for her to support Shahbaz Sharif if he was nominated. Meanwhile, PML-N spokesman Marriyum Aurangzeb alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan was behind the falsified narrative about Shehbaz Sharif that was published in a British newspaper in 2019.

“Selected Prime Minister Imran Khan created that lie against Shehbaz through his ‘tout’ Shehzad Akbar,” Marriyum remarked at a press conference in Islamabad. She said that David Rose, a reporter for the Daily Mail, had failed to present any evidence against Shehbaz Sharif in a defamation lawsuit launched by the latter last year in a London court. Rose had been granted a fifth extension by the court, she claimed.
