Burj Khalifa Reigns as the Most Popular Landmark, Drawing in a Staggering 17 Million Annual Visitors

Dubai’s magnificent Burj Khalifa has once again left an enduring impression on the world stage by setting a new record as the most visited landmark globally. Khaleej Times reported on this achievement.

According to the data provided by a survey conducted by the analytics website Switch On Business, the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, captures the attention of 17 million people every year. With a height of 828 meters, this skyscraper is three times as tall as Paris’ Eiffel Tower. Impressively, it receives approximately 22 million Google queries, showcasing its global significance.

Statistics reveal that this astounding structure generates a whopping $621 million in ticket sales each year. The renowned Taj Mahal in India secures the second position on this intriguing list, with 7.5 million annual visitors and 22 million searches. Notably, Niagara Falls comes in a very close third, attracting over 13 million visitors annually and prompting more than 1.2 million web queries.

These numbers underscore the enduring appeal of these well-known locations. The most recognizable landmark in most tourist-friendly cities is the main attraction for visitors from all over. In Dubai, the Burj Khalifa holds that distinction, according to Mir Wasim Raja, an industry specialist.

Another specialist in the field, Ranju Abraham, happily notes that the tower serves as a captivating draw for tourists, boasting about its astounding height, architectural splendor, and breathtaking panoramic vistas. According to his opinion, the best times to enjoy its wonders are from 3 PM to 6 PM in the winter and from 4 PM to 7 PM in the summer.

The cost of a ticket for the sky view observatory starts at AED 80 per individual and goes up to a range beyond AED 750, depending on personal preferences, as stated on the official Burj Khalifa website. The study also revealed that global travel made a strong rebound, reaching 917 million travelers in 2022 as travel gradually resumed after the hardships of the pandemic.
