Ali Zafar releases ‘Maula,’ his first single from upcoming album Husn

Ali Zafar, a singer-actor, has just released a new song called “Maula,” the first single off his upcoming album Husn, which will be his first in 11 years.

On April 2, Maula was publicly available on YouTube. Zafar authored, orchestrated, and produced the song, which he describes as a “Sufi ballad of affection.” Kaamil Hyderabadi is the author of the lyrics.

The singer is joined by a group of mystical dancers involved in Sufi whirling in the music video directed by Waleed Akram, which was shot at the Sheesh Mahal at the Lahore Fort. The objective of the spinning ritual in Sufism is to clear one’s mind of all distracting thoughts and attain a trance-like condition.

“We all have our own journeys and distinct perspectives on life. “My new album Husn symbolises a certain journey I’ve taken as an artist,” said the singer of “Chal Dil Meray.”

“The most beautiful experience for me has been the journey to an unknown discovery that transcends beyond the realm of reality created by our five senses in the mind that we tend to perceive as’reality,'” he said, adding that “once on that journey, we begin to understand that there is something more to us and our existence where there are no agreements or disagreements.”

He stated that there is no conversation because there is none. There was nothing except music in the silence, and the light inside the darkness. Something that can only be represented using music as a medium. That is the allure of it. “The’husn.'”

Husn is the singer’s fourth studio album, and it comes approximately 11 years after Jhoom, which was published in 2011. Husn will be released after Ramadan, and the singer will release singles from the album when they become available.
