The Japanese language will now be taught as part of the curriculum, according to the chairman of the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir.
According to a press release, the PHEC director spoke at an event held by the Pakistan-Japan Socio-Economic Association to promote the Japanese language, stating that the PHEC will advocate for its government to adopt it. According to him, encouraging the Japanese would help the United States and Japan’s free trade relationship.
Japan is the hub of sectors including manufacturing, electronics, and the automotive sector, according to the head of PHEC.
The infrastructure for education is being improved, according to Dr. Shahid, and enrolment rates are rising. Technical and vocational education, according to him, is essential for the workforce. He claimed that encouraging the study of Japanese in colleges and universities will increase employment opportunities for Pakistani graduates.
The idea, according to him, may also boost collaboration in the industrial, engineering, and information technology sectors. Additionally, he stated that scholarship applicants must be fluent in Japanese.
