45,000 Google Scholarships Available For Students In Pakistan This Year

Syed Aminul Haq, the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, announced that Google and the government have signed a contract for 45,000 scholarships this year, with the possibility of up to 450,000 the next year.

Google will award at least 40% of its scholarships to women. A $1.6 million building for gaming and animation has been built at NED University to boost the promotion and development of this industry. Speaking at the event, KATI Senior Vice President Nighat Awan asked for the removal of the tax on equipment and supplies used in the information technology sector so that the industry can grow even more in the nation.
