‘The Land Cruiser is not mine’ clarifies Maulana Tariq Jamil in a now deleted Twitter post

LAHORE – Renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel had responded to a viral photo associated with him on different social media platforms, then deleted in just after a short while.

The viral picture is of a luxury SUV, Lexus LX570, which can be seen, registered with the MTJ-1 number plate – MTJ is a fashion retail brand owned by Maulana Tariq Jamil.

The picture which has been making rounds on social media comes with the claim that the full-size luxury 4X4 vehicle which typically costs nearly Rs 50 million, belongs to Tariq Jameel however the whole scenario has turned out to be a controversy.

Taking it to social site Twitter, the Deobandi scholar clarified that, a picture is being spread on social media attributed to me when in fact I have nothing to do with it and it is completely baseless. May Allah guide us all to the truth and keep us safe from spreading lies.’

In another twist in the scenario, the clarification tweet was deleted after a few hours and there is no update afterward.
