‘Smart Cookies’ – Robber gets identified after Bakery owner give away cookies with his face on them

LANSING: In a creative trick to catch a burglar, a bakery in Milwaukee, a city in the US state of Wisconsin, printed the thief snap on its cookies in a bid to trace him.

Reports in American media suggest that Canfora Bakery owners, Karen and Eric Krieg, printed the image taken from a security camera and printed it on an edible paper. The owner used the ‘sweet strategy’ on a special batch of sugar cookies.

The robbery occurred in the wee hours on April 19 when a man intruded at the bakery and stole the money along with some equipment.

The owner of Bakery while speaking with a US-based newspaper said ‘We decided to create the best of it and see if the local residents could identify him’. The plan succeeded as they started receiving tips in the first 20 minutes of posting pictures on their official Facebook.

The local Police later released pictures of the suspect. ‘’The suspect is described as a Caucasian male. He was last seen wearing a knit beanie, dark jacket, and dark pants’, police added.

Reports further suggest that the bakery later added the alleged mugger had been found but it’s not clear if law enforcers have made an arrest.

Following the hilarious but smart way to nab the mugger, many social media users hailed the bakery’s response while some suggested it do a similar offering for people with stolen or missing pets.
