LAHORE: The Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency Tuesday apprehended a model cum actor for harassing and blackmailing a Lahore-based businessman.
Reports in local media quoting federal investigators said model Ifrah Khan has been detained for allegedly blackmailing a businessman and receiving 0.5 million Pakistani rupees.
The GT road star reportedly blackmailed the businessman, whose identity is anonymous for privacy reasons, through a video clip.
The accused allegedly demanded Rs10 million as extortion in the start, while the victim later transferred an amount of half million. Khan after receiving five percent of the demanded amount started threatening the man for leaking the clip.
The distressed man then moved to the Cyber Crime wing of FIA, a specialized wing for investigating Information and Communication Technology-related crimes, and got a case registered against Lahore-based model under blackmailing and extortion charges. Blackmailing and harassment come under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the model is in FIA custody and further investigations are underway. Khan has around 38,000 followers on Instagram where she introduced herself as a model and an actor besides being a producer and an entrepreneur.
As per her social media handle, she is also the founder of her own productions company which goes by the name of IfrahKhanProductions.
