After a 3-year-old boy got stuck on an escalator in Ocean Mall Karachi due to which his leg was amputated, police have registered an FIR against the owner, Malik Tariq Rafi and others.
The surprise, the FIR was filed under Section 25 of the Telegraph Act and Section 337-F of the PPC for threatening the child’s parents over the phone.
The incident in which Amaan lost his leg occurred on March 20, 2022, after which the parents took to social media to express their dissatisfaction, receiving threats from Ocean Mall management, according to the parents.

The family of a three-year-old kid who was injured after getting stuck on the escalator at a Clifton shopping mall mounted a protest over the month-long wait in filing a lawsuit against the mall’s management.
The FIR was registered under Section 25 of the Telegraph Act (for threatening the child’s parents over phone) and Section 337-F of the PPC (causing grievous bodily harm). Both offences are compoundable, which means the two parties may reach an agreement over compensation

The family demanded that an FIR be filed right away, stating that the mall management was using its power to prevent the filing of an FIR. So, after a long family struggle, an FIR has finally been filed.
