Former Australian wicket-keeper batsman, Adam Gilchrist, has expressed disapproval towards a social media page that falsely ascribed fabricated statements to him during the Pakistan-Australia Test series.
The misleading quote attributed to Gilchrist implied that he declared, “Pakistan is the worst Asian team in Australian conditions. What have they won here in the last 35 years.” This misinformation quickly spread on social media, prompting Gilchrist to set the record straight. Taking to his own social media account, Gilchrist refuted the alleged statement, emphasizing that it was entirely untrue and comprised of concocted quotes.
I never said this. Absolutely fake, made up quotes. Pakistan were excellent at times this summer, against a World Champion Aust team and very nearly pinched a Test or two. #fakenews #ignore pic.twitter.com/DsQ9KUINIr

He went on to commend Pakistan’s performance during the summer, acknowledging their excellence at times against a World Champion Australian team and highlighting their close attempts to clinch a Test victory or two. Despite the defeat during Shan Masood’s captaincy, Pakistan displayed potential, particularly in the Boxing Day Test against Australia where they posed a challenge.
Additionally, emerging talents like Aamer Jamal and Agha Salman made a strong impression on their debut tour in Australia. As Australia prepares for a home series against the West Indies, Pakistan has already reached New Zealand for a five-match T20I series, with the first T20I currently in progress today.
