First-Ever Spidercam for Series between Pakistan and England

As the Pakistan vs. England T20I series approaches, the production team plans to put up the tools at the stadium starting on September 18.

Spider cams will also be utilized for the first time. In the past, the Pakistan Super League was the only event that used spider cam (PSL). On September 17, the production team is reportedly anticipated to arrive in the city. Along with spider cam, drones, hawk-eye, 4-6 slow-motion cameras, two ultra-motion cameras, and a buggy camera, there may be up to 30 or more high-resolution cameras strategically placed. Additionally, digital screens will be built on the boundary. To mark their first-ever international tour to Pakistan in 17 years, the England squad will arrive in Karachi on Monday.

Pakistan will host seven Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), four of which will be played in Karachi and the remaining three in Lahore. At National Stadium Karachi, a T20I game will be played on September 20. The Pakistan Cricket Board has put up a talented commentary crew for the historic seven T20 International games between Pakistan and England. The seven matches will be broadcast between September 20 and October 2 in Karachi and Lahore, with commentary provided by Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Aamir Sohail, Bazid Khan, and Urooj Mumtaz as well as other illustrious Pakistani cricketers. These commentators will also offer insight into the pre- and post-match shows, which will be hosted by renowned presenter Zainab Abbas, throughout the series.

England last played in Pakistan in 2005; they were scheduled to return last year, but they abruptly postponed their trip after New Zealand canceled a tour due to safety concerns. After a deadly attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which judged the behavior “disrespectful,” was furious and eager to demonstrate that the nation was safe once more. In preparation for next month’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia, the 19-man visiting side, led by Jos Buttler, will play seven T20 matches against Pakistan in Karachi and Lahore. We are delighted to be present. It’s my first time in Pakistan,” remarked Buttler. Several Pakistan Super League sportsmen have expressed their admiration for Pakistan and the country’s enthusiastic support of sports.

Sadiq Muhammed, a former cricketer for Pakistan, praised the English team’s trip. He told Al Jazeera over the phone from Karachi that it appeared to be a favorable sign for upcoming trips by other teams. Australia’s first successful tour in close to 25 years took place earlier this year.

The PCB expressed confidence that the England games will also go ahead without a hitch, saying the Australia series “demonstrated our event-planning and operational skills.” On game days, the roads leading from the England team accommodation to Karachi’s National Stadium will be closed off and guarded by security personnel. Helicopters will track their route, and establishments with stadium views will have to close.
