Iconic Meme ‘Wow Grape’ up For Auction as an NFT

The rehabilitation of the flood victims will receive a portion of the money raised through the sale of NFT.

‘Wow Grape’ the meme that won the hearts and minds of many people around the world, is scheduled to be auctioned off as a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) on September 30, 2022, on the Foundation digital art marketplace. When a YouTube channel posted a video of a celebration at a Pakistani school in Saudi Arabia, the Wow Grape meme skyrocketed in popularity. Snippets from the film went viral right away on the internet and later served as a common model for the production of memes that overwhelmed social media.

Due to Ms. Sehar Kamran, a Pakistani politician and former senator who served as the school’s principal at the time, and her passionate inflection of voice, the phrase “Wow, great” was specifically misinterpreted as “Wow Grape” by online users. Since then, the word “Wow Grape” has been frequently utilized online in texts, photos, gifs, and videos. While the bulk of Pakistani memes are just of local interest and, at best, spread to the South Asian nations that are next door, “Wow Grape” has a large international fan base. A TikTok trend was spawned by the meme, and videos made using “Wow Grape” have amassed more than 63 million views overall.

In reality, famous people, Instagram and Twitter influencers from all around the world have remade or reposted the classic meme. For instance, Mia Khalifa, a well-known celebrity, posted her interpretation of the meme on her own TikTok account, garnering over 2 million views and thousands of reshares. Millions of people have been affected by massive floods that have hit Pakistan on a national scale. People need ongoing assistance to manage the issue because homes and livelihoods have been severely damaged on a large scale. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the NFT will be given to a reputable and well-established charity to support the rehabilitation efforts.

When asked about the recent floods in Pakistan and the usage of NFT to raise money, Ms. Sehar Kamran responded, “We must help to improve the nation and support our people through trying times. 33 million people have been affected by the recent floods, which have devastated Pakistan and submerged 1/3 of the country.

Pakistani Escobar Nawaz not Sharif – Nawaz Sharif NFT’s now for sale

One of the hardest impacted groups of people is those in my hometown of Sinjhoro, Sindh. We have decided to sell the NFT and donate a portion of the proceeds to the rehabilitation of those impacted by the flood because the scale of the calamity is more than what the government can handle on its own.

An intangible digital object, like an image or video, is represented by an NFT, a type of cryptocurrency asset. Since NFT owners are listed on the blockchain, NFTs can be exchanged for the digital assets they stand for. With Ms. Sehar Kamran’s approval, the “Wow Grape” NFT auction will be held in association with the Pakistani/Swedish software company Maqssoft. The sale of the popular NFT could provide local NFT makers the inspiration and confidence they need to introduce their products to the world market and strengthen the local economy.
