Last month, WhatsApp announced that Message Reactions and 2GB File Sharing were in the works. Since then, the company has been testing the features and has now released a stable version.
In 2011 we introduced Group Chats, and we haven't stopped improving since. In the coming weeks, we'll roll out the ability to share files up to 2GB and add more people to your groups so you can continue creating and nurturing meaningful, private connections. https://t.co/mcJpQVIVTU

Users of WhatsApp are only allowed to share files and media up to 100MB in size. This restriction will be lifted with the latest version, allowing users to exchange larger files such as HD films.
Message Reactions have already made their appearance in several areas. Users will have a restricted selection of emojis at first, but will eventually have access to “all emojis and skin tones,” according to the messaging platform.
The currently supported six emojis include 👍❤️😂😮😢🙏.

WhatsApp has also updated Groups to support twice the number of participants with the latest release (512users per group). WhatsApp has also doubled the amount of people who can participate in group calls, currently supporting up to 32 people. This function is only available on the smartphone version of the app.
WhatsApp also plans to launch the ‘Companion device’ function, which will allow users to use one WhatsApp account across several smartphones or tablets.
