All-rounder Shahid Afridi has announced that he will not be participating further in HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season seven.
Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) franchise Quetta Gladiators suffered on Sunday a huge blow when the veteran all-rounder and former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi announced to withdraw from the league midway.
Afridi’s announcement came hours after the Gladiators’ win against Islamabad United.
In a video message released after the match, the Pakistani sixer king said that his body isn’t allowing him to continue playing.

“I wanted to end PSL on a good note but I have been playing with the lower-back injury for 15-16 years now and the pain is quite intense where I feel it in my groin, knee and even the fingers of the foot,” Afridi said.
Afridi revealed that he will undergo rehab for a few months and will look to take part in Kashmir Premier League (KPL).
“Health is everything and I can’t further endure the pain.”
Meanwhile, Afridi thanked Gladiators’ owner Nadeem Omar and also apologised for not playing further in the tournament.
“I will come back on the field once again for my fans, keep me in your prayers,” Afridi concluded.
It must be noted that Afridi played three games for Gladiators and picked three wickets. It is pertinent to mention here that this was the last PSL season for Afridi as he had announced it last year.
