Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas welcome first child via surrogacy

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have welcomed their first child into the world via surrogacy.

The couple married in India in December 2018 in a two-day ceremony that blended Christian and Hindu traditions.

“We are thrilled to confirm that we have welcomed a kid via surrogacy,” the 39-year-old Indian actress and 29-year-old singer wrote on Instagram.

Priyanka and Nick’s first child is a baby girl, according to a report in a US weekly, and the couple is very excited about the new epic journey. According to a source close to the couple, the baby is a girl, and the pair hopes to have at least two children in the future.

“We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.” She stated on Instagram.

A number of celebrities, including singers Joe and Kevin Jonas, who are now uncles, as well as actresses Awkwafina, Eiza Gonzalez, and Karen Gillian, congratulated the couple on social media.

“Kalpen uncle is ready to babysit!” said actor Kal Penn.

Jonas and the former Miss World recently discussed starting a family.

“They’re a significant part of our desire for the future,” she told Vanity Fair for its February 2022 edition. When it happens, it happens by God’s favour.”

“I’m OK with that,” she answered when asked if she and her husband would have to slow down once they became parents. That’s fine with both of us.”

Diana, Gina, and Panda, the couple’s three pets, live with them in Los Angeles.

Chopra, a prominent Bollywood, and Hollywood actor, was designated the British Fashion Council’s Ambassador for Positive Change in 2020.

“I’ve always been such a worker bee,” Chopra told the magazine. “My priority has always been the next job. I’m a very, very ambitious person. But I think the woman in me is craving balance. I’m craving my family life. I’m craving being able to do things for the soul that I didn’t do because I was just ‘blinders on’ and working,” she said in her interview in mid 2021.

Last year, she published her memoir Unfinished.
