In a grenade blast in the Kala Kallay region of Kabal tehsil on Monday evening two children were killed and one was badly injured.
Three minor brothers were badly injured after a grenade they were playing with went off in the Awarpatey neighbourhood, according to Rescue 1122 officer Shafiqa Gul.
They were identified as nine-year-old Jamal and 11-year-old Karimullah. Seven-year-old Abubakar was shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital in critical condition,” Ms Gul said.
Officers from the police department and the bomb disposal unit arrived at the scene to gather information.
“The children discovered the grenade near their home and placed it in their fireplace, causing it to explode, killing two brothers and injuring the third,” a police official said.
“A Rescue 1122 team reached the spot and shifted the injured children to Kabal hospital, where doctors pronounced two children dead.
