Elon Musk said that Kanye West’s Twitter account had violated the site’s rules against encouraging violence, and it was taken down early on Friday as a result.

West has reportedly told CNN that he has long been fascinated by Adolf Hitler and has even expressed a desire to name an album after the Nazi leader, according to several former close friends of his. According to a business executive who worked for West, the artist generated a toxic work environment in part due to his “obsession” with Hitler. This is not the first time West has experienced issues with Twitter. Twitter deactivated West’s account in October owing to an antisemitic remark before Musk completed the acquisition of the social media platform.
