Virender Sehwag, a former Indian Test cricketer, praised Pakistanis for their hospitality and said he became emotional when he experienced their friendly welcome when visiting the nation.
For five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Test matches, India toured Pakistan in 2003. India defeated its opponents 2-1 in the Test series and 3-2 in the ODI series. In a YouTube interview where he reflected on the visit, Sehwag praised the friendliness of Pakistanis for their generosity.
"No one ever took any money from us in Pakistan, I bought 30-35 sarees for my family from Lahore, and they didn't take a penny," Virender Sehwag.

He said, “We discovered so much love from the Pakistani people when we toured there back in 2003–2004.” We went shopping before the second Test in Lahore. I purchased 30-35 Pakistani outfits for my family from a neighborhood store. The shopkeeper objected to me giving him money, stating that I was his guest and that it was inappropriate for him to do so. All around Pakistan, there was such love for us, he said. Sehwag gave Inzamam-ul-Haq great marks during the same interview. “Inzi Bhai was such a sweetheart. Everyone speaks about Tendulkar, but Inzamam, in my opinion, was Asia’s most important middle-order hitter, he praised.
“Tendulkar was superior to other batters; he was out of their league. However, Inzamam performed best in the middle order. I’m referring to 2003–2004 when an average of eight was only a figment of the imagination. Teams used to panic in these circumstances, but Inzamam at the time used to remain calm while scoring runs at an average of about eight,” he continued. One of Pakistan’s all-time top batters is Inzamam. Between 1991 and 2007, he played in 120 Tests, 378 ODIs, and a T20I for his nation. He was also a member of the 1992 World Cup-winning Pakistani team.
