Trailer of first Arab-desi superhero duo show starring Yumna Zaidi is here

Crestar and the Knight Stallion, a show starring the first Arab-desi superhero duo, will include Zaidi. Its trailer, which was released on Tuesday, shows two comical superheroes rescuing the day while being beaten up by their desi mothers.

Yumna Zaidi is taking on a new position, new dawn, a new day. We all know that actress has been making waves on television for quite some time – her most recent appearance in Sinfe Aahan has left many people speechless. And, despite being one of the best in the local acting community today, she’s never landed a worthwhile film or an international project – until now, at least.

“Think if you could leap big buildings in a single bound, glide, and save people daily you have to be home by ten since you live with your overbearing Arabic/Desi mother,” the clip’s YouTube description states. By the way, your mother is a little scarier than your arch-enemy. Crestar and the Knight Stallion may be the only two superheroes who have to deal with curfews, immigrant values, and arranged marriages while fighting the forces of evil.”

Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad directed and produced the film under the banner of Exxodus Pictures. It has yet to be picked up by a streaming platform, but based on its first look, we’d happily binge it. Netflix, are you reading this?

Yumna’s role in the film isn’t particularly important, but she is a prospective wife for one of the superheroes, given her on-screen desi mother’s desire for the prize (read, desi superhero born and bred abroad). So, here’s hope we get to see her, as well as her onscreen husband, in action soon.
