Eligibility Requirements
- Individuals who are not EU/EAA citizens and are employed or freelance remotely.
- A job with a non-Spanish company.
- The applicant cannot have resided in Spain within the previous five years.
- The applicant cannot be staying in Spain illegally.
Other Conditions
- Candidates must have a minimum of three months of work experience with their present employer or clients. They have to be employed by a business that has been around for at least a year. The ability to work remotely must also be demonstrated.
- Candidates must be graduates or postgraduates from recognized colleges, technical institutions, or business schools, or they must have a minimum of three years of overall work experience.
- Candidates must demonstrate their financial stability by making at least 200% of Spain’s current monthly minimum wage of €2,334 (about Rs. 690,567), or €28,000 (roughly Rs. 8.28 million) annually. Each accompanying family member requires an additional 25% of this income.
- Applicants must have a clean criminal record for the previous five years in addition to obtaining comprehensive private health insurance.
Visa Period
A digital nomad’s visa is valid for either 12 months or the length of their employment, whichever comes first. It can be extended for up to five years. Applicants can submit a permanent residency application after five years.
Applying Process
Candidates can enter Spain on a tourist visa and apply within the first three months, or they can apply for a digital nomad visa through an embassy or consulate. The processing of a visa could take between 15 and 45 days. The cost of the application is roughly €80. (Rs. 23,669).

- National Visa Application Form completed.
- Two passport photos, as well as a valid passport.
