Shehzad Roy corrects Anupam Kher on Claiming Pakistani Kids as Indians and DDLJ actor is all convinced after realizing his gaffe

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani singer turned entrepreneur Shehzad Roy in a recent post ‘humbly corrected’ Bollywood legend Anupam Kher over a viral video of Hunza kids, who were performing with metal tins and sticks, and the latter accepted the mistake ‘with a grace’.

It all started on August 11 when Roy shared a now-viral clip in which a band of young musicians from Pakistan’s northern valley Hunza can be seen drumming. However, Roy at that time was unaware of the whereabouts of the little ones. He shared the clip and asked about the location of the children after seeing the skills.

“Please somebody tell me where are these kids and I’ll give them all the instruments they need”, he captioned the post in a bid to find and provide them the instruments they deserve.

As the video got viral in a short time, the Bollywood senior actor took to his Twitter and hailed the kids while unaware of the location, he described them as Indian kids. “Some kids in an Indian village have formed their own band together and they do not have any proper equipment. And what a tune they have chosen of the military band. Because they know that ‘the real power lies in the heart!’ Hail to these children”, he captioned the post.

Soon after the gaffe of Special 26 actor, keyboard warriors were quick enough to correct Kher. Following the mistake from the senior Indian actor, the Mukhra singer also took to his official handle on the microblogging platform to correct Kher’s misconception.

“Thanks for sharing the clip I shared a few days back. You say that these talented kids are from Bharat, a humble correction, these kids are in fact from Hunza, Pakistan. I am in touch with them and have sent them all the musical instruments they need,” Shehzad mentioned while correcting Kher in a polite way.

Being a man of class, Kher accepted his mistake and retweeted Roy’s tweet, saying “Dear Shehzad Roy! I stand corrected my friend.”

Furthermore, the banter didn’t end here as Kher also commended the philanthropy and activism of singer-songwriter who has remained on the forefront of activism highlighting a number of social issues including education for all and against domestic abuse with kids. “I loved the video. Keep up the great work you are doing with these kids!! Love and prayers always”, it added.
