‘Shehbaz’s turn to be tested now’: Khan confirms confidence battle in National Assembly

Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, stated on Saturday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be “tested” by a vote of confidence in a process akin to the one he himself faced as the premier in April.

When asked if the current prime minister may be required to secure a vote of confidence from the National Assembly during an appearance on the Hum News programme Hum Meher Bokhari Kay Sath, Imran responded, “Absolutely, we will test him.”

Shehbaz had put the PTI to the test, thus Imran claimed the party would now turn the tables on the prime minister.

In a party meeting on Sunday, he added, the party would work out the specifics of the move and conduct thorough planning for both the trust vote and “other plans to fully thrust them in a testing scenario now.”

It is important to note that the MQM-P, a significant supporter of the current coalition, recently signalled that it may resign from the federal government over what it claims are broken promises.
