Shahid Afridi tells PCB to handle Shaheen Afridi With Care

The senior Afridi told a private news channel that Shaheen is presently resting because he once again sustained a knee ailment in the same location.

He believes Shaheen needs to take at least two to three months off to heal and should be cautious when fielding. The young pacer was cautioned not to fall on his feet in a manner that would overstress his knee joint and send him back to rehab by the previous master-blaster. He needs to play very carefully right now, and PCB will need to make sure, said Shahid. According to him, if Shaheen had been unfit, he would not have been able to bowl even two overs in the tournament’s title match in response to claims that he competed in the T20 World Cup while out of shape. Both Australian knee expert Dr. Peter D’Alessandro and PCB Medical Officer Dr. Naseebullah Soomro thoroughly evaluated Shaheen’s knee and found no indications of serious damage. The quick bowler is feeling better right now.

Shaheen Shah Afridi will be unable to participate in the first of the three Test matches against England that will start on December 1 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. As of right now, they are traveling to Pakistan and do not have enough time to assemble a team of medical professionals to assess the gravity of Shaheen’s injury in Australia. A group of medical professionals will assess his condition when the crew gets back to Pakistan, and once they’ve finished all the tests, they’ll have more details to provide. Shaheen won’t be able to lead Pakistan’s offense at the start of the three-match Test series, according to team insiders who spoke with The News. Shaheen might very well be seen missing the full Test series against England, I worry. He needs a lot of rest and rehabilitation, the insider said, to treat his knee problem permanently.

They stated that therefore, it would be too dangerous to even contemplate playing him in the series, let alone the first Test. Pakistan’s offensive strategy against England in the Test series will probably change. According to one of the former Pakistan Cricket Board doctors who was contacted, Shaheen might miss the entire season. If they want Shaheen to be healthy and ready for the next World Cup (2023, 50-overs aside), they need to give him at least three to four months to recover fully from the injury.
