Road Accident in Neelum Valley Claims Six Lives

In the Kuttan neighborhood in Neelum Valley on Wednesday, at least six people—two of them were children—were killed and two others suffered injuries when the jeep in which they were traveling crashed into a ravine.

As soon as the collision was reported, police and emergency personnel arrived in the Jagran Road area. Locals helped with rescue efforts as well. The eight passengers in the jeep, it was reported, belonged to the same family. The deceased’s corpses and injured people were taken to MDS Hospital Jhambar.

A wedding party’s automobile slid off the road and into a deep ravine on the Muzaffarabad-Neelum Valley road in July of this year, killing at least four people—including the bride—and injuring five more. Inadequate infrastructure, outdated vehicles, and a disregard for traffic regulations all contribute to the problem, as seen by the increasing frequency of these accidents. Lives continue to be lost in such sad accidents because of the blatant disregard of drivers and authorities.

Another incident occurred a jeep crashed into a gorge in the village of Noori Bhonja, a Balakot suburb, inflicting at least nine injuries. The injured were pulled from the ditch by members of Rescue 1122 and residents, who then transported them to a neighboring medical facility before bringing them to a hospital in Mansehra. The jeep was being driven by Zaheer, according to the witnesses, and for some reason, it crashed into a ditch. The cops arrived and are investigating the situation.

Since the roads in Manor Valley have still not been repaired even after a month, the residents of Balakot are currently dealing with serious issues. The provision of food and the transportation of patients from their homes to hospitals have reportedly become life-threatening tasks for the locals.

The Manor Valley management asserted that the building had been restored, although the situation isn’t that way. Due to inadequate infrastructure, people are experiencing major issues. The deputy commissioner and other top officials have also come under pressure from dignitaries in the valley to ensure that structures are restored as soon as possible.
