Recitation, Sermon Delivering Robots Now at the Grand Mosque in Makkah

Following the latest technological rollout by the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques, robots will recite the Holy Qur’an and enlighten visitors at Islam’s holiest shrine. The imam and muezzin affairs authority will be in charge of the recitations, sermons, and azan robotics at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

Users will be able to download services on cellphones by scanning barcodes shown by intelligent robots. To obtain information on prayers, imams, muezzins, and weekly schedules, including the names of clerics delivering Friday sermons, users can also issue commands to the robots. Several cutting-edge technology initiatives have been launched by the presidency in support of the Two Holy Mosques to enhance visitor experiences. One of these initiatives is the introduction of robots.

According to Vision 2030 and the strategic 2024 plan of the president to improve services to visitors, the launch is a part of a “huge strategic plan” to implement the smart Haramain project, according to Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, Chief of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques. Al-Sudais continued by saying that the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques is focused on offering visitors the same technology and high-end services as it is on optimizing the use of contemporary technology inside the Two Holy Mosques. To stay up with Vision 2030, he claimed that the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques is assuring the facilitation of daily services for guests by minimizing physical efforts and advancing smart technology.

Al-Sudais continued by saying that the presidency is resolute to advance and stay up with the digital revolution, promoting technical advancement, offering a plan for forming task forces, and guaranteeing the continuation of creative culture. Visitors are intended to hear the messages of the Two Holy Mosques’ imams and muezzins through recitations, sermons, and the azan robot. Other intelligent robots from Al-Sudais have been introduced; these include a disinfection and sterilization robot, a fatwa robot, a smart disinfectant robot, and a robot that cleans the surface of the Holy Kaaba. The Two Holy Mosque Presidency is committed to offering the Grand Mosque’s numerous Muslim tourists from all over the world top-notch services, strong leadership, and cutting-edge administrative procedures.

This is not the first cutting-edge technology to be placed in Makkah’s Grand Mosque. The Grand Mosque formally unveiled a guided robot earlier this year to assist Muslim visitors and respond to inquiries in 11 languages. To distribute Zamzam water, mosque officials deployed robots last year. There were more robots on the ground to do sterilization and manage epidemics. In December 2021, the Grand Mosque in Makkah unveiled an electronic version of the Qur’an for the benefit of Muslims who are blind or visually challenged. These actions are a part of the Kingdom’s all-encompassing development plan for 2024, which calls for using contemporary technology to benefit the Two Holy Mosques.
