Qatar’s City Walls Painted By Artists from India and Pakistan for FIFA World Cup 2022

On Monday, the Phool Patti Truck Art Collective, a social enterprise based in Pakistan, posted images of their painting on social media.

The mural, which can be found near the Al Mansoura Metro Station, is a tribute to Pakistan’s rich cultural history. The well-known truck art is used to illustrate the mural. The completed mural was unveiled to the world on Instagram after two difficult weeks. The message was written by Phool Patti’s creator, Ali Salman Anchan, on behalf of all the artists. “Ladies and gentlemen, this is our truck art mural in Doha,” Anchan said as he introduced the audience to the unusual piece of art. He added that he had been asked since he will be working with the Qatar Museum on the Jedairart Local Program in Doha this year.

He noted that this year, the Qatar Museum is officially partnering with them in Doha for its regional initiative, Jedarart. The Phool Patti team is promoting Pakistani truck art and the splendor of Pakistan’s heritage under the direction of creator Anchan and other members including Mumtaz Ahmad and Muhammad Amin. The painting is situated adjacent to a display of Indian truck art, as Anchan also stated in the article. The placement of both murals makes it a notable work of art that unites the two countries. He stated that the Indian Truck mural and the Pakistani Truck mural, which are next to each other, are Jedariart’s best features. Both of these works will undoubtedly inspire further thoughts in viewers.

Anchan, who is also the company’s creative director, expressed his gratitude to each and every artist who contributed to the artwork. 32 teams from all over the world will compete in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will begin in November. The mural is a fantastic method to highlight artists and Pakistan’s cultural identity.

Qatar Museums launched an open call earlier this year inviting aspiring and established artists to submit a proposal outlining their concept for a mural that takes into account the piece’s relevance to the community and the message they would like to convey through their work in order to be considered for JedariArt participants.

Mona Lisa gets some cake

Prior to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Qatar Museums is transforming the nation into a sizable outdoor art museum through a comprehensive public art programme that will feature more than 100 public artworks. These works will be on display for both locals and the 1.5 million tourists who are anticipated to travel to Doha for the major sporting event.
