Punjab Makes Significant Changes to Matric and Intermediate Exams

The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen has approved major adjustments for improvement in examination policy for matriculation and intermediate students (PBCC).

The changes were first proposed last month during a PBCC meeting and were just now publicly disclosed. These changes will go into effect at the start of the next academic year, which is slated to start in a few weeks.

Matric and Inter students will have four opportunities to improve in any subject. After finishing matric or inter, they have three years to make use of these options.

If their grades improve, they will not be able to use any remaining opportunities.

Students taking the improvement exams after a two-year gap must submit an affidavit showing that they have not received any higher education.

Intermediate education is for students who desire to upgrade their matric subjects. People who desire to improve their inter-marks can pursue higher degrees such as an Associate Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree.

It’s important to note that the changes would only affect students who take their matric and inter-yearly exams in 2020 or later.

On matric and inter students’ mark sheets and degrees, the number of attempts to upgrade grades will be recorded.
